Wow, what a pleasure it was to work with Deidra and Paul for their amazing wedding weekend in Denver! We started on Friday with their Vietnamese tea ceremony at Deidra’s mother’s house. Deidra was in traditional Vietnamese dress, and Paul in traditional Chinese dress. They both looked amazing…I just love the vibrant colors! This was my first time doing a ceremony like this. A Buddhist monk orchestrated the intimate ceremony, and it was very fun to witness. It kept my assistant photographer and I on our toes, as we didn’t really know how the course of events would go. Everything was so great though! After we photographed the ceremony, we captured some photos outdoors, and then they had an amazing lunch buffet, and were kind enough to feed us so much delicious food 🙂 Day 2 started on a very sunny, Saturday afternoon in September. We met at Cheesman Park for some bride and groom, and wedding party photos. Again, everyone looked amazing, and so elegant! Deidra looked stunning in her white wedding gown, and even sported multiple dramatic veils. After lots of photos at Cheesman, we headed downtown and captured some more urban wedding photos at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, as well as the popular yellow wall by The Curtis Hotel. Finally, we headed to the reception venue and captured many Seawall Ballroom wedding photos.
The marquee outside the ballroom had their names on it…it was so cute! And wowza, did that ballroom look AMAZING!! Everything was beautifully decorated, and perfectly executed. The pink and gold wedding cake was a jaw-dropper, as were the tablescapes, and the amazing lighting design. The bride and groom had a gorgeous first dance, and the fog machine added a lot of drama to the photos. Guests really enjoyed themselves. Between the delicious food and beverage, the professional Samba and belly dancers that entertained them, and the packed, lively dance floor, how could they not?! Deidra and Paul had a few outfit changes as well. They put on their traditional Chinese dress for their cake cutting and the bouquet toss, and then Deidra put on another white dress…this one was a little more simple and light weight, for getting down on the dance floor 🙂 If you haven’t gathered yet, it was a fantastic weekend! While I adore mountain weddings with picturesque Colorado views, it’s so fun to do a glamorous Denver wedding every now and again too. They allocated so much time for photos, and I always appreciate that so very much. This allows us photographers to get creative, and the clients get much more variety in their photos. We even had a chance to get some fun outdoor, nighttime Seawall Ballroom wedding photos, with a beautiful lace parasol. Thank you so much Deidra and Paul, I hope you will always treasure your photos. It was so wonderful working with both of you!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I will be up in Winter Park for the next few days, spending time with my sister, niece, and nephew, and checking out 3 awesome rustic, mountain wedding venues 🙂 I hope to bring you a beautiful, but quite windy, Boulder engagement session later this week…I would love it if you checked back.
