Mid-September already…wow, how did that happen?! This year is really flying by. My first blog post for the new month is my first wedding from the 2016 wedding season. Christine and Sean had a beautiful, snowy Colorado wedding in April. This was the day of our huge, late-season storm (aka Snowpocalypse)! I know that Christine and Sean probably didn’t imagine such a massive snowstorm when planning their spring wedding. However, they totally embraced it, and so did their guests. In fact, it was standing room only during their Evans Memorial Chapel at the University of Denver wedding ceremony. After their traditional Catholic ceremony, they danced the night away at the Empress Seafood Restaurant. During their reception they embraced some of Christine’s Vietnamese traditions and guests seemed to enjoy every bit of the evening.
While the weather definitely threw a wrench in our plans a bit, we were still able to get them outside for about 10 minutes of chilly bride and groom photos! And I have to say, that was some of my favorite bride and groom portrait time to date (although I wished it was about 4 times as much time). I just love the way snow looks in photos 🙂 Then, with the juxtaposition of seasons between the pink flowering tree of spring, next to all the wintery snow. It was a truly beautiful scene! The red of the bridesmaids dresses, the groom and groomsmen’s vests, and the red in Christine’s bouquet really popped against all the white. As I have said before, I do not book nearly enough winter weddings. While this wasn’t technically winter, it was definitely the snowiest wedding that I have photographed to date. I hope that these photos exemplify how beautiful a snowy Colorado wedding can be.
They looked equally amazing in their traditional Vietnamese outfits…I just love the vibrant colors!
Christine’s third and final outfit was a beautiful red gown. It was very fitting that Sean sang “Lady in Red” to her while they danced. It was amazingly sweet, and one of the very memorable parts of their day.
