Kayla + Derek | Pines at Genesee Wedding Photos | Colorado Mountain Wedding Photographer

Kayla and Derek had a beautiful, summer wedding full of vibrant colors and sweet details. Their Pines at Genesee wedding photos were so much fun to capture, alongside Two C’s Photography out of Pennsylvania. Christina use to live here in Colorado, and I had the pleasure of meeting her a few years ago at a high school senior photo “shoot out” in Fort Collins. This was the first time working together on a wedding though, and it was an enjoyable time. I think we pose and interact with our couples pretty similarly too 🙂 I was very happy to help her out with Kayla and Derek’s forest wedding photography, as they were an awesome couple! They were gracious and lovely, as were all of their families and friends. All around, it was an incredible wedding day…with no shortage of smiles and laughter!

This was not my first time capturing Pines at Genesee wedding photos. It’s a popular Colorado wedding venue, for good reason. It’s in the mountains, but you don’t have to take I-70 far out of the Denver Metro area. I am sure guests appreciate the proximity to the city. Pines at Genesee has a nice forest feel, and every time I have been there there is beautiful sunlight peeking through the tall trees. This makes for some wonderful, warm wedding photography, and you can’t go wrong that!

Kayla surprised her groom with a custom leather wallet. It was a sweet gift, and he certainly loved it!

They really wanted to do this shot hahaha, as they all wondered over and over again “what do we do with our hands?!”.

Kayla did a fun and unique first look with her dad and her brother. The bridesmaids stood in a line and blocked her, then they split apart and revealed the stunning bride 🙂

These ring bearers were absolutely adorable…especially having just had my own little man! I got more than a few cute photos of them 🙂

I have never seen someone so focused on the garter toss. Derek’s groomsman got on the ground and stretched beforehand to make sure he was on top of his game. It worked LOL…he caught it!
