Kate first discovered my business through a CU Boulder friend and classmate, Vicky (go Buffs!)`. Vicky was one of my former dance students at Dance Dimensions and on my team when I coached the Niwot Dance Team. Crazy that that has been 10 years ago now since I was coaching her! Kate and Josh first hired me to do their Boulder engagement photos at beautiful South Mesa Trail. They loved their photos and decided to also hire me to capture their Flying Horse Ranch wedding photos. I was so honored to do so…what an incredible day!
Kate and Josh’s wedding day truly went off without a hitch! The weather was beautiful (except some wind during the bride and bridesmaids’ portraits…other than that…perfect!!). Their ceremony was personal and family-centered, with almost no dry eyes in the place, and their reception was a complete blast! Their guests were treated to an amazing and memorable evening. The day was full of joyful moments, good food (and drinks it seemed!), fun music, and so much love and laughter 🙂
A classy and timeless affair at Flying Horse Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado. Beautifully detailed event with blue, white, and green accents. With hints of wood and rustic elegance.
There were so many parts of Kate and Josh’s day that I loved, it’s hard to narrow it down. But let’s start with Kate’s dress…stunning! She looked incredible, like an elegant princess. Kate did a first look with her dad, and with Josh. Both were full of laughs and tears of joy. Their grandparents played key roles in the ceremony, and it was super special! I can totally admit I was getting chocked up behind my camera too. Kate and Josh also had so many beautiful reception details. From the lush greenery on the head tables, to the cute cigar bar outside, the adorable (and yummy) cupcake display. I also loved that they incorporated their engagement pictures into their wedding day, by having them displayed on the cocktail tables.
Awww…definitely one of my faves from their wedding day! I just love a pretty veil shot. And then that stunning sunshine, and the little peek of mountains in the backdrop. Love it!!
Their reception was one of the most fun and hopping parties I have photographed in a long time! The dance floor was PACKED!! I laughed a ton, while watching guests getting wild and busting some serious moves. Kate and Josh’s first dance was under the outdoor market lights, and that was so pretty to photograph. That is the same place we ended the night with their lively sparkler exit. Kate went with the extra long sparklers, as I recommended. These really are the best choice! They last a long time, they don’t smoke like crazy (like the little ones do), and they are more striking in the photos too!
All the ladies sang to Kate and Josh…it was so much fun and quite hilarious!
Hoping you enjoyed Kate & Josh’s Flying Horse Ranch wedding photos, as much as I enjoyed capturing them!
I hope to shoot at this awesome Larkspur venue again soon. Larkspur sure has some amazing wedding venues…Flying Horse Ranch, Crooked Willow Farms, and Spruce Mountain Ranch are all top-notch venues. You can’t go wrong at any of these quintessential Colorado locations 🙂 Coming to the blog next, another lovely Colorado teen at the epic Dillon Ice Castles. Check back soon.
Enjoy the rest of your week, and super bowl Sunday. Go Rams! 😉 I am not a huge football fan, but like many people, I am kinda sick of seeing the Patriots play in the super bowl lol!
