Happy Saturday, friends! Busy weekend for so many, between Memorial Day and tons of high school graduations around Northern Colorado. I had a beautiful wedding in Estes Park yesterday. Today I am heading back up there for a Rocky Mountain National Park engagement session with one of my June wedding couples. They booked nearly 2 years ago, so I am so excited to finally be working together 🙂 Speaking of lovely engagement shoots, meet Samantha and Reid! I had the pleasure of capturing their rustic Colorado engagement photos last winter. We did these on private land (near Kersey) of a friend of Reid’s.
The location suited this laid back couple very well! There was a little river, some open fields, both sun and snow. We even finished in a field with Reid’s cows. That was a first for me…and probably the muddiest my shoes have ever been after a photo shoot LOL! Worth it! Samantha and Reid’s parents all came along to their engagement session. It had me a touch nervous to have an audience for this type of session 😉 Everything turned out wonderfully though! And it was a very sunny, mild day for February in Colorado.
Samantha and Reid were married in June in a Catholic ceremony. Followed by a beautiful Pelican Lakes “island” reception. I look forward to sharing those photos soon. I have been a guest at a Pelican Lakes wedding before, but this was the first one I had photographed. Hoping it won’t be the last…it was a beautiful location! And really quite unique for Colorado. Don’t get me wrong I love the mountains, and mountain weddings. But a lovely “beachesque” wedding only 20 minutes from my house…sign me up!
This is definitely one of my favorites from Samantha and Reid’s rustic Colorado engagement photos! Love the colors and the joy!
Even got the moon in the background here!
Thanks so much Samantha and Reid! I loved working with you guys twice last year. I truly hope I get to have those wonderful smiling faces in front of my camera again someday. Hopefully you remember that I capture plenty of maternity sessions and family sessions as well 🙂 Coming to the blog next…Madeline’s mountain senior pictures and Taylor and Cody’s stunning Breckenridge wedding!
