Happy February! For the first (of hopefully many) blog posts in the new month, I bring you the lovely Kaylie. Her Longmont senior photography session was another for the record books. I say that because this was another extensive shoot, with numerous outfit and location changes. I first met Kaylie during her dad and stepmom’s wedding near Berthoud. She has really grown and changed since then. This was a session like Rylee’s Longmont photos, where I had to set a series of alarms on my phone to keep us on track. Otherwise we would miss out on some of our planned stops or outfits. Everything turned out wonderfully!
First, we started at Sandstone Ranch. This is one of the most popular photo locations in Longmont, for sure. You can probably see why…there is so much great variety! A historic barn, rock formations, ponds, a river, open fields and a metal bridge. She started in a gorgeous purple dress with a lace cutout top. This was probably my favorite outfit of the day! She also changed into a cute denim romper at this location. I have shot at Sandstone Ranch countless times over the years. This was the first time, however, that I ever made the trek onto the other side of the park to do some photos with the big farm silo. Over there I had also spotted another small field of the russian sage flowers. The ones that photograph like a field of lavender!
Kailey’s Longmont senior photography session continued in downtown Longmont and Prospect New Town.
At these locations we wanted less nature, more urban! We got shots with all of my favorite grungy and colorful walls at these locations. Kaylie is also a dancer, so she put on a very cool dance costume for some action shots as well. I loved the movement we got out of that fridge dress!
And off to Golden Ponds…our last stop on this fun evening! This is the other of the most popular photo locations in Longmont. I have probably shot at this location close to 50 times. Once in awhile clients have dipped their toes in the water a bit, but Kaylie decided to get all the way in it! She even laid down near the base of the waterfall at the end of the session. She looked amazing with her hair softly floating around her face and shoulders in the water 🙂
Thanks Kaylie. What a blast! Your session was amazing, and it was such a pleasure having you in front of my camera again. I hope you never lose your passion and love for dance! On the blog next, part 2 of Gabriela and Wisman’s epic Colorado engagement session. Part 2 was at the Great Sand Dunes National Park…you don’t want to miss it!
