Happy Sunday friends! I hope you are enjoying this beautiful first day of spring. Woo hoo…we made it! But it is Colorado after all, I am sure we still have a bunch of snow to come. The next two days I am shooting in Breckenridge and Winter Park, so I am sure it will still be a winter wonderland up there. But bringing you warmer days here on the blog. Today I am sharing Emily’s destination senior photos in Boulder and Louisville, from last summer. Emily and her family were visiting from Oklahoma and decided to get her senior portraits with our beautiful mountain scenery.
Emily and her mom really wanted some variety in her senior session, so we settled on two drastically different locations. We met up in front of the Hotel Boulderado. We walked for several blocks around there and captured some colorful, urban photos near the Pearl Street Mall. Emily wore a vibrant yellow-orange button down, over a cropped white top. As well as a trendy belt on her jean shorts, and checkerboard Vans.
Next we ventured over to Louisville for some nature shots at Davidson Mesa and Harper Lake. Oh, this poor area! It was hit hard with the crazy December fires that destroyed many residential neighborhoods in and around Louisville. I have many fond memories from wonderful shoots at this location. It was so devastating watching this area burn on the news. My heart was broken. I have not seen the area since the fires, and not sure when it will reopen for visitors. Here Emily wore a cute red dress. Wow did that pop on camera! It looked awesome against the golden grasses, the greenery, and the blues of the flatirons. Across the street at Harper Lake she rocked some adorable olive green shorts and a white top. She added a fashionable felt hat here and there. Accessories are always a good idea in my book!
This is definitely one of my favorites from Emily’s senior photos in Boulder County. Such a soft, nice smile and that show-stopping red dress!
Oh wait…maybe this is my favorite!! I just can’t decide!! Love the joy and fun in this one. And the pretty golden hour light 🙂
What an awesome sunset to end an awesome session! Thank you so much Emily. You were such a delight to work with. I hope these final months of your senior year are wonderful. Wishing you all the best in your future, post-high school endeavors! On the blog next, Jess and Jon’s RMNP engagement photos. Have a great week ahead!
