Years ago I captured Ben’s sister Dora’s senior photos in Longmont. I was so happy to hear from their mom again and capture Ben’s senior portraits in Denver as well. Ben wanted a location that is colorful, artsy, grungy…somewhere that would go along with his eclectic style. We decided on the RINO art district for his urban session. It fit the bill perfectly! After a bunch of great shots around RINO, we did a few photos with Ben’s beloved BMW. And finally, we drove over to nearby Larimer Square. Ben and I jumped out for a few dusk photos with the lights of Larimer Square before wrapping up the session.
Ben is really into fashion design, and even designed some of the garments for his senior session. He started in dark gray/faded black, cargo style jeans and a black and red handmade sweater. I have shot in the RINO district many times over the years. Ben was the first client that wanted to pose with the graffiti painted trash bins. He hopped right up there without hesitation! Next, he changed into a simple cream colored sweater, with the same dark jeans and black and white Adidas. For Ben’s final look, he changed into a brown button down shirt and a camel colored coat with a fur collar. I just love that he kept true to his own personal style throughout his session! It truly captures the essence of the person he is during this particular season in life.
This is definitely one of my favorites from Ben’s senior portraits in Denver. That wall is really cool, and Ben’s fierce expression is fire! He is such a natural in front of the camera…especially with those serious looks.
Ben, I hope you are enjoying your senior year and making some incredible, lifelong memories. I wish you all of the best, wherever the future takes you…Europe, Asia, South America, or wherever you may land! Enjoy the journey! Next up on the blog, another session from my October minis in Mead. This time with my adult hip hop buddy, Christina, and her beautiful family. Check back soon!
