Best friends got together for a family trip to Breckenridge, and decided to have me capture family photos while they were there. I have known Melynda, Erin and Justin since high school. We all attended Longmont High, class of 2000! Melynda and her hubby Erik used to be our next door neighbors. I have known the three handsome little guys since they were babies. Needless to say, I love these two families! We started their Breckenridge family photography session at the High Line Railroad Park. The peak fall foliage had already passed but the ladies had found some areas where some decent color remained. We did a nice mix of family photos for each of these small families, as well as plenty of shots of them all together.
At this park we got a lot of nice, smiley portraits as well as some fun candid shots. You know me, if there are leaves on the ground, I am going to make the kiddos throw them! Next, I suggestsd we stop at the Breckenridge Sawmill Exhibit. I have shot at this location a few times before, my favorite was Jessica and Dave’s gorgeous fall engagement session. Here we got photos with the mountain views and the rustic buildings. The Boehm and Carter families planned to end just a little further up the road at the Lodge at Breckenridge. This is the location where Melynda and Erik got married and where we returned with their boys for a family session for their 5 year wedding anniversary. Thankfully they didn’t have a wedding on this evening, and we were allowed to capture some family portraits there.
At the Lodge at Breckenridge we mostly shot on their back deck with the iconic and expansive mountain views. Since it was again near the Boehm’s anniversary, we even re-created some of their favorite wedding photos. We utilized every last little bit of light (and warmth…it was getting cold!) and we were rewarded with a pretty pastel sunset sky. What a fun session with two awesome, and photogenic, families!

This goofy final group photo is one of my favorites from their Breckenridge family photography session. I love how everyone’s individual personality shines through!

Thanks so much Boehm and Carter families! This session was a lot of fun. I hope you love the photos and cherish them for years to come. Next on the blog, Laina’s senior session from South Mesa Trail in Boulder. She is such a beauty, and comes from yet another family that I know and love for many years. Check back soon, and enjoy your afternoon!
